Yankee Hill Stewardship w/ Stay The Trail
Sept 23 – Yankee Hill- Round 2 (Clear Creek RD)
Where: Fall River Road Exit off I-70. Look for large gravel parking area.
When: Sunday, September 23. Starting from meeting location at 9am.
The Yankee Hill area is an incredibly popular OHV trail system, just outside of the Denver, northwest of Central City. It is an area that many begineers head to for some weekend fun.
Last year we recovered an abandoned vehicle from this system. This year, we will be looking to tackle off-trail bypasses, educating users we meet, and documenting areas where we can come back to complete needed signage and larger maintanence projects. We a few spots picked out that will need to be tackled. Some locations need to have larger slash piles created to keep folks within the proper trail corridors. In other spots, we will be installing some new signs.
This area is a spider web network of trails. Our goal is to cover ground throughout the area but may have to backtrack down some trails.
