This should be a good time in the snow.
We will come in from the south end/camp dick.
We will try to make the north end as the exit.
There is to be some more snow next week so more fresh powder.

40.223803, -105.268585 <<<<<< railroad park
X2 on meeting spot, as long as there isn't any kind of festival or anything like that going on it's a great meeting spot. A good back up spot is just to the west across HWY 7 in Meadow Park. Big dirt parking lot there right after the entrance.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
There is also a decent sized dirt lot across from the gas station on the east side of town.

Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
So is this happening the 26th or the First?

Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
Brandon / DD: I edited your calendar entry as it was for today, the 18th. In moving it to the 26th, RSVP's get stripped (you were the only RSVP). So, a head's up - re-RSVP yourself.

...and father of the year award goes to...Rick!!!! Don't worry, I plan to hold it down for the Dodge folk AKA us...
Is there any interest in (snow permitting) trying Ironclads and/or T44 (I think?) offshoots? I'd really like to check out some plane wreckage just because I'm a nerd at heart.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
Thanks Jim.....big oops, there on my part.
Rick, enjoy your weekend. Should be a good trip.

Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
I just got my truck to my mechanic in greely, getting all new seals and gaskets. If it's done by this weekend and the snow isn't to bad then I am a maybe. Night before is my birthday, so if I am able to get out of bed that morning then yeah.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
i should be able to make it. never ran bunce before. Is there room for a trailer at the trailhead or nearby? probably trailer mine as it will be the first run on the new t-case setup.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
There is room a the trail head and also nearby if it is full.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
Alex plenty of room at the trail head.
Wesley, bring your yota and learn.
Snow is a good learning experience.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
Dieseldoc,
We will come, assuming we don't run into anymore issues with the truck. I am in fear that head or block might be warped... But here is hoping that it was just a crappily done head gasket replacement job done by some one who shouldn't be near a motor. Anyway I will have it by Friday afternoon, and should know if we will be able to do the run.
So pray, break a wish bone, rub your lucky rabbits foot for my truck, and that it's a simple fix. I am already in a little deeper then I wanted to be money wise. Lol

Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
I RSVD'd as a maybe and I'll know more by the end of the week. I'd love to get on an easy trail like this with the group.
I was hoping to do this from North to South so I could maintain the south exit and head down 119 to the casinos in Blackhawk.

The south end is closed during the winter.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
The south to north gives Alex a place to leave his trailer.
We may not get all the way to the school with the snow that is coming in.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
Boulder county forest service shows gate closed.
Yet the trail info on trail damage shows it as a good winter run.
Chad any clues here?
I think this means we have to start north to south.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
The gate at camp dick is closed in the winter.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
Well I am out.... Timing chain guide broke and is somewhere in my oil pan. So I will be spending some intamate time with my motor... Lol. But after all this she will be like new. Just waiting on some parts now.
I will see if I can make the next one. If all my parts come in on time then we will be golden.
..... I think. Lol
have fun guys! I will catch the next one!
The gate at camp dick is closed in the winter.
Michael is correct, we'd have to start on the North end and run it as an out and back.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
Cool out and back works for me. We will still met folks in Lyons and head north.
I will contact the northern folks to see if they want to meet us at the trail head.

Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
So apparently parts showed up yesterday.............while I was home...........apparently a delivery guy doesn't know how to knock and on top of that because it was sent expedited priority it was zipped back to the sender in Texas. So now that I've calmed down a little we gotta figure out what we're gonna do. Even if anyone in town has moog ball joints they won't be able to touch the price we were getting em for. They were going to just send off another set right away but....................yep, we got the last ones and those were on their way back to them.
So now we wouldn't see those back here till thursday, the only day I couldn't work on em, and I would be cramming to get them done Friday with no chance for an alignment. SOOOO, now I'm thinking about replacing the bad axle bearing in the 96, but I already know that's going to open a whole other can of worms I'm not ready for yet. Our chances of making this one just slimmed a touch, but if there's any possible way to get one of them ready then it will be ready.

Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
No MOOG
There stuff has gotten really poor quality in the past few years.
Find stuff local and go for quality.
We had a bunch of brand new MOOG ball jp8its that right out the box you could spin the shaft by hand!
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
Well this could be interesting....12" of snow at the house today.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
I just broke out the chains for the 35's not that I want to use them !
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
12" of wet pack'n snow in FoCo
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
In Morrison we have AT LEAST 12". Probably 18" to 24" depending on where you measure. Hard to tell at this point. Had to shovel the back steps and the yard for our black lab to be able to get out.
Hopefully if you guys go this Saturday, you take chains and such. More snow is expected on Saturday.

At least 16 in Longmont
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
24" in front of the shop in englwood.
Had to get the tracked CAT skid steer out to clear the lot.
Should be interesting for sure.

Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
I'm no meteorologist, but I'd guess we got about 43" here in Boulder.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
anybody still planning on going? if nobody wants to run bunce we can do seven mile instead. i know a few guys that are going saturday.
-
Re: Bunce school road sat 26th
I am still planning to go.
We have folks meeting us at the trail head up north.(non club)
Steve dug his chains out.
Gary is coming as well(non club)
We'll see what everyone says once we hit the trail head.
Of its to deep 7mile could be a good option.
