Directions: Hwy 285 through Aspen Park, staying in right hand lane. Go past the ACE Hardware (visible on the right) and take the next right hand turn: Conifer Parkway. Go left at the intersection, then right at the stop sign. Safeway is going to be located above you on your left side. There is gas, coffee and all the regular Safeway stuff.

Well, I reset the date and lost the RSVPs. Someone else can try to fix this .....

Do the Denver folks go down through Deckers on Pleasent Park or over 285?

Depends on how long you want to drive. You shouldn't be anyway near Deckers getting to Tarryall Road and Jefferson. Take Pleasant Park to Hwy 285 back to Conifer to the meeting spot. Only reason I can possibly think to go through Deckers is if you wanted to drive all the way to Woodland Park, then 24 to Tarryall Road to China Wall....or if you wanted to drive to Deckers then turn back towards Hwy 285, then take a left onto FS211....which will eventually get you back to the Hwy 24/Tarryall Road area.. Not a bad drive, but takes about 1 1/2 hours or more from Deckers.

Hwy 285 is fastest from the brown town area.

The only thing that's hampered turnout has been the weather. Some people wake up, look out the window and bail only to find the wx in Denver was crappy but fine in Tarryall. I'm not sure what year it was but one year the drive was ominous but turned out great!

very good point chris. For some reason lake george always seams to be in a weather hole. I've driven up many times in "questionable" whether and gotten to the trail and it's been great.

I have lots of work to do on my truck. Change fluids, change power steering pump, tune up :-). This will be my inaugural run in my new truck

How long will it take to get to the trail head from Aurora?

I give myself 1.25 hours from Aurora to the meeting place at Safeway where we meet and caravan to China Wall. Anyone interested in meeting to make that drive can do so too. Last year I think we had 4 meeting in Aurora to head out.

Got fantastic news My aunt Cindy knows Tim Magee the main photographer for CRAWL magazine, and It is looking like I am going to get him to tag along and take pictures of our anniversary run and publish them in the magazine. I will keep you guys updated
