    Default Labor Day weekend

My wife and I are planning a little one night camping trip near Idaho springs, looking to stay on the easy/moderate side. What would you suggest for us? Looking like Loch Lomond might be our best bet but very open to ideas!

I think devils canyon provides the best camping in that area.

I considered DC but wasnt sure if I was confident going solo on that. What makes the camping superior there?

Of the trails mentioned above, I would say DC is the easiest. It has lots of good flat spots campsites with room to pull-out and fire rings, and lots of good views on the lower loop.

Awesome Im excited to have a go at it, my wife loves the idea of camping at the lake which is why I was considering Lomond. Maybe I can convince her otherwise!

Most of the Lomond camping is not by the lake.

    How about Wheeler Lake?

For lake camping, Adams Lake is quite nice - but getting there is a task.

Another option, family car accessible (with 4x4 accessible forest roads to explore), is the Deep Lake Campground. Again, a trek to get out there, but it's a campground I'd consider visiting - lake views and Deep Creek canyon views.

Definitely heading that way eventually but ideally around a 1 hour drive for this weekend. That does look fantastic though!
