The question to ask is are you planing on keeping this rig for a looooooong time ? If so, what's a salvage title to you?"

Well it's confidential to me so I won't get rid of it but it's still important to me not to total it out it reduces the value of I am ever hit in it again.

"In this age of technology, I have found that the internet can only go so far without making a phone call or putting your hands/eyeballs on the real thing.

I tossed a lot of budget stuff on my cherokee, perhaps you will be just as successful if you choose to go the repair route. Here are some ideas:

    1) Get some pictures of your axles/broken parts you want to replace (crawl under that bad boy!)
    2) As you are taking pics, get notes of all the part numbers and specific model names
    3) Try to find out the specific model you have 1991 Isuzu Rodeo (LX?DX?Other?), Engine size, transmission type
    4) Some axles have model numbers and gear ratios stamped right on them
    5) Google those part numbers specifically... might find a match
    6) Google Junk yards/Pull and Pays. Give em a call see if they have Rodeos/Passports in your production years, they probably will not tell you what is on them for parts you have to look in person
    8) Narrow down to your specific vehicle... perhaps... Planetisuzoo
    9) Check CL for your specific model parts in a search.. sometimes a hit

IMHO.... Don't worry too much about an upgrade atm... the upgrade starts with it running successfully"

Thanks that sounds like a plan.

That's cool man, mind sharing why it's sentimental to you? If not that fine, I allways find car/truck stories interesting.

Just some food for thought: If you have to find a used axle from a self service yard, they don't care if it is a D-44 or a GM 10-bolt, price is the same.

It's centimental because my aunt was the first owner of it and I bought it from her and I'm very close to her and on top of that I paid for every cent of that truck by myself, not every teenager can say that about their first car.

It's your Baby ! Good for you and no they can't ! I teach High school Automotive, and I really don't understand how teenagers have the cars they have. No way they paid for these cars on their own. Good for you man! You should be very proud.

Yes Very much so my baby! And thats so true there is a kid that goes to my school, actually two with almost brand new nissan 350z's
And Thank you, I am very proud.
What I'm thinking about is buying another rodeo of my years 91-97 with the money that i get from the insurance and using it for parts i may damage on the trails and then crush the rest of it and buy more aftermarket parts with that money what does everyone think of that?

Like Shadowmaker said, research on Planetisuzoo. They have a wealth of knowledge on that site. Also, http://www.independent4x.com, is one of the few places online that you can buy aftermarket Isuzu parts. Matt, the owner, is extremely helpful if you ever need to talk to someone.

**EDIT** Did some searching. The Second Gen Troopers (1992-1997 I believe) have a 12 bolt rear with 4.56 gears. Nab the rear axle and the front third from a junk yard and you have a good starting point. That 12 bolt can handle 37in tires. I ran one with 37in Iroks for a little while. Great Axle.

Well it was just my truck but I had other people with me and we went to Yankee Hill because we get survice there. We also hit minor gulch too. Everything has been washed out and really rough and Rocky but my baby handled it like a champ. Or at least good enough with stock suspension. So other then the leaf spring being bent the truck is just fine.
