    Default I made a mistake I bought a Jeep

Hi there, my name is Teg, I live in Australia and in October 2013 I bought a new Jeep Grand Cherokee for $60,000.
This was a BIG mistake as it has been a lemon Jeep from the day I got it.
It’s had numerous issues and has been towed a number of times.
I no longer trust it to transport my family safely
I recorded this song and made this music clip out of frustration, as the dealer and Fiat Chrysler Australia have basically told me to bugger off.
I'm not the only person who has experienced major issues with Fiat Chrysler Australia… in fact, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) had so many people complain to them, that they took action in September 2015 and announced sanctions against Fiat Chrysler Australia.
One guy even tore his new Jeep apart using excavators and then set it on fire in frustration of the way he was treated by the dealer and Fiat Chrysler Australia. He also setup a facebook page to keep the pressure on the government to introduce stricter laws to hold companies like this responsible for the supply of safe and reliable vehicles in Australia.
Below is a link to our full complaint to FCA.

There are also two lobby groups in Australia who are pushing for the introduction of lemon laws to protect the consumer

Wow. Is there also a recent problem with Jeep quality here? Or is is somehow confined to the Aussie versions?

Check out Jeep consumer satisfaction and you'll see it's an issue here.

I would imagine that when you compare the Jeep to the other rigs the Aussies get, it probably doesn't hold up. The Toyota, Nissan, Isuzu, Rover and other vehicles there are MUCH tougher than here. The 4Runner and Pathfinder there has been categorized as a "car" for years. The Jeep there is probably more comparable to a station wagon here.

I had to find what I ran across, no judgement on my part.

Arguably the most controversial choice on the list is the iconic Jeep Wrangler (including its stretched four-door equivalent the Wrangler Unlimited). While the Wrangler has few equals as a rough-and-tumble go-anywhere off-road vehicle, it’s lacking in refinement, comfort and road manners as a pavement-planted daily driver. Among its many faults, Consumer Reports condemns the Wrangler with such comments as, “it rocks and jiggles constantly, and handling is very clumsy…wind noise becomes very loud at highway speeds…getting in and out is an awkward act…the interior is uncomfortable.” It also gets poor crash test ratings and performance/reliability scores.

Other SUVs, including the Dodge Journey, Jeep Patriot/Compass, Nissan Xterra and the Volvo XC90 make our list of new cars to avoid for their lack of sophistication compared to other models, along with various other transgressions, including high ownership costs, poor resale values and/or low marks in crash tests.

The above is snipped from Forbes.

So consumer reports only cares about what it thinks and not the market that jeep builds the vehicle for. Make sense considering their always somewhat off test results.

A huge finger in the face......
Buy a vehical for what you will use it for.
If you plan to daily drive with little time in the dirt then get something like the 4runner.
Its makes a stable platform and is usable off road.

But if you plan to pound on it like we do out TJ and still daily drive it then the wrangled is the right buy.
I must say I have never been very impressed with the JK.
To much computer iterferance, first engine couldn't get out of its own way....
And the drive train suffers from being lighter to accomadate ride quality.
Cut it sells like hot cakes so I guess being built tough is not a concern for crystler anymore....
