Fine by me, the gulch doesn't care what we call it. This story came out a couple of years back and 7 news used a video I made of us on Chinamans's Gulch in the story. The reporter gets to Chinaman's around 1:20 in the video, then you can see a couple of seconds of Chris's JKUR from my video, he credits it on screen. Local historian explains the origin of the name right after that.

Are we allowed to turn this into a political and "social issue" thread? I've got lots of opinions to share on this one.
It don’t matter to me what they call it...
to me it will always be OCG..

That is the thing. They can change the name 14 times but people will call it what they first heard it called.

Yep
"Sears Tower" and "Mile High Stadium" are the structures' true names - not the name of the day some wish to push.
Just spent a couple of windy nights at a cabin near Buena Vista. The high peaks are still covered but the Fourmile area is mostly dry and the trails are pretty screwed up (awesomized) from all the snow. Even the usually graded roads like 375 were all rutted and bumpy. There is new signage at the turnoff from 301 to Yansing / Carnage and the sign that read Chinaman Gulch right at the start of the trail is just missing from the post. Whatever you call it that is one great trail. There was a crew inspecting the Midland Tunnels and we had a really fun 20 minute delay to get through them, the flaggers were very cool people.

Thanks for the info.
Well enjoying the last photo!
Efficiency from the BLM. One pic from a couple of years ago, the other from this week. They removed the post on the right and cut the left one just below the Chinaman Gulch Loop sign.
