Default Red Cone, Webster, Deer Creek, and Saints John

Beautiful day for a run. Mountaineer1 (Isak) , Steve-O (Steve), 78bj40 (Louis) and myself met at the trailhead at 830am an got underway shortly there after. There was a group of 3 that got on the trail ahead of us but we never encountered them again. The only place on the way Red cone were we had an issue was the Dips that just proved too deep for Isak's Mountaineer, Louis tugged him up from there and the rest of the trail went with incident. We stopped for lunch at the bottom of the Red Cone hill and got to witness some Dufus go the wrong way up Red Cone in a bone stock F150 on street tires. He got stopped for a bit halfway up but overcame that and made it all the way up to the summit, the wrong way. There were some vehicles coming down that probably told him but Like I said, a Dufus. After lunch we decided to take Webster down to Montezuma, and the Deer Creek back up the hill and Saints John back down to Montezuma again. Got off the trails around 3pm, it was a great day.

Beautiful day, great trails, great company. Got to take out my new toy, 2005 TJ Rubicon that is modified similarly to my old one. First time wheeling an automatic so that was interesting, but had a lot of fun.

What did you notice as different / interesting? Every now and then I wonder what an auto would be like offroad.

Thank you Gary for the great summary. As others have said it was an awesome day with perfect weather. Some of the leaves were starting to turn and provided beautiful scenery. My observation for Red Cone is that 99% of it is not bad at all (I would rate 3 or 4 max), but that rutted section is really rough. The ruts are about 3-4 ft deep and alternating so unless you have really good flex or lockers you will get stuck. Thankfully I had the group to get me through! The decent also isn't too scary, just go slow and let the engine do most of the braking.

My photos added, including Mr. Dufus hammering it up the one way in the wrong direction.

Some more photos. You can clearly see Breckenridge from Saints John which was pretty cool.

Perfect day, it has been a while since I did some wheeling so it was great to get out, meet some new people and see old ones
I have a video of that idiot who went up in the wrong direction, I imagine that he must have done this before!
