    Default Moody Hill 2024-09-29

Jumped out late Sunday and ran Moody - east T.H. to west T.H. A bunch of buggies rolling off of the trail / done for the day as I was heading in. One reaction I had was that the defoliated trees really opens up the view - seeing the quarry from afar through the trees was a different experience. Likewise, the forest floor is changing (and easy to see) with some areas covered with small pine trees and others covered with small aspens. Neat to see the change.

Did you notice if people are still using the user created routes in the meadow just before the turnoff to the quarry?

That group of buggies was from the Woods Run, a invite only race on private property the day before off the Stove Prairie Road, they go to Moody the next day.

I do not have any recall of meadow routes though I did notice widening of the main path - on the grass next to the path going up the meadow hill to the intersection. I don't have a picture - but foggy recall says there was a knocked down carsonite near the top of the meadow / near the intersection (very foggy recall).

I lost my K&N air filter for my York - I think it was on the big uphill climb from a couple weeks prior - didn't see it yesterday. I could see going back to tend a few minor trees (a small handful on the initial climb, and one large tree here [near a dead end - low importance - but people have started to drive around it]: (Google Map)

Care to schedule a deadfall visit?

That widening is what I was referring too. My club is probably going to go up there within the next few weeks and do some work.

For the worklist... I believe there is deadfall blocking the entrance to FSR 513.A (Google Map)

We will take a look if we have time. Our main goal is to block the user created routes in the meadow before they get to worn down. We will be hauling fallen trees from various location and placing them to block routes.

If the deadfall doesn't get tended when you folks wrap-up, let me know and I might make a trip to clear it.

We didn't clear 513a, to me it looks like it was purposely blocked and it shouldn't be.

We did do a lot of work in the meadow.
